Embers Barn is a large and luxurious holiday house for 12 with a private hot tub and beautifully landscaped gardens. The setting is within a working farm surrounded by miles and miles of glorious Oxfordshire countryside; close by are countless things to see and do for all ages. The professionally designed interiors are a gorgeous blend of classic country with a soft contemporary edge; now and then a playful splash of colour is thrown in and the result is amazing. The overall feel is relaxed and very, very comfortable, making a wonderful backdrop to your stay.

At your journey’s end turn through the gates into The Old Farmyard and follow the signs round to the large parking area. A path leads to Embers Barn where you step through the doors into the commodious open plan living space and wow, it's fabulous! Full height windows let the natural light pour in, to one end there's a kitchen that’s very well equipped and has a big walk-in pantry with laundry facilities. Centre place in this enormous room is a long refectory style table that comfortably seats 12, and at the other end big fat sofas beckon you to come and put your feet up. On colder days light the open fire, gather round, sit on the raised hearth, share trays of hot buttery toast, mugs of steaming hot chocolate. To one side of the room 3 sets of French doors open onto the private terrace and the landscaped gardens; when it’s warm enough, open them wide, let in the fresh country air and the Oxfordshire sunshine.

To the right of the kitchen area a corridor leads to the bedrooms. Right at the end are Bedrooms 1 and 2; both have an en suite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower. Next to this is a walk-in cloakroom and Bedroom 3 with an en suite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, and Bedroom 4 which has its own en suite shower room. Across the corridor there’s a WC, Bedroom 5 with an en suite wet room, and Bedroom 6 with an en suite shower room. Like the bedrooms at Embers Barn, the bathrooms have all been individually designed; different coloured tiles in each give a funky touch to the crisp and clean look, underfloor heating keeps your toes nice and warm in the colder months.

The beds are super comfy zip and link superkings from Dormy House, please see Rooms for the configuration options.

Outside on the terrace at the back of the house there’s a gas barbecue and ample outdoor furniture for those sunny days and balmy evenings when you can dine alfresco with views of the garden and fields. Whilst your steaks are sizzling, slip into the cedar clad hot tub, have a soak and a natter beneath a summer sky the colour of cornflowers. The gardens are thoughtfully laid out with plenty of room for little ones to run around and let off steam; have a game of chase with them, watch them bounce on the ground level trampoline, play croquet on the lawn, practice your cartwheels and handstands. Relax and have fun together because that’s exactly what big family holidays are all about.

At the front of Embers Barn is a large courtyard and terrace that’s shared with the other large group holiday house at The Old Farmyard (see The Grinding Barn).

To the side of the barn an old tractor shed has been converted into a covered shared games area, another cool place for the youngsters to hang out and play table football, pool, Giant Jenga and Connect 4. We know that you’ll all have happy days and peaceful nights when you stay at Embers Barn because so much love has gone into creating this large group holiday cottage and there’s something here for all ages. The only problem we can think of is that you might not want to leave….
