With a private hot tub and snooze space for 14, The Grinding Barn at The Old Farmyard brings you space, style and luxury in this large group holiday home in the UK. Set in the spectacular Oxfordshire countryside you’ll find plenty to see and do nearby for all ages. Professionally designed interiors make the best of the huge open plan living space and the restful bedrooms; the vibe is a subtle mix of country-classic and contemporary with bold splashes of colour. Feel yourself start to relax the moment you walk in; this is where your holiday begins.
Drive through the gates into The Old Farmyard, carry on to the parking area and then follow the path that leads to The Grinding Barn. Go in through the doors to a wide hallway that leads straight through to the garden; to the left a lobby leads to Bedrooms 1 and 2 and a shared shower room - a good suite for a family. To the right step down to the lower hall where you’ll find Bedroom 3, with an en suite bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, a WC and a big walk in pantry with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Carry on through to the enormous open plan living space where chunky timbers soar to the ceiling and full height windows allow the light to pour in. At one end is a very well laid out kitchen with a big central island and stools, in the middle there’s a long dining table that comfortably seats 14.
At the far end of the room comfy sofas and chairs await you, enticing you to put your feet up and relax by the fireside when it’s chilly outside. In the summer pull back the big sliding doors and let in the sunshine and fresh country air.
Back in the main hallway stairs rise to a landing and lead to Bedrooms 4 to 7. Bedroom 4 is a large room with an en suite bathroom that has a bath and overhead shower, Bedroom 5 has an en suite shower room, and Bedrooms 6 and 7 share a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.

Even the bathrooms have been individually designed, each one is bright and snazzy with colourful tiles, all have cosy underfloor heating to keep your feet lovely and toasty in the winter.
Many happy hours will be whiled away on the terrace at the back of the house where there’s a gas barbecue and sturdy outdoor furniture for dining alfresco. Lower yourself gently into the cedar clad hot tub, have a soak and put the world to rights as clouds drift lazily by in the summer sky. The landscaped gardens are plenty big enough for children to run about and let off steam; join in with them, play hide and seek, have a picnic on the lawn or a game of croquet. Such wonderful ways to pass the days!
At the front of The Grinding Barn there’s a large courtyard shared with Embers Barn, the other large group holiday house at The Old Farmyard.
An old tractor shed has been converted into a covered shared games area, with plenty to keep younger folk occupied and for family fun; there’s an outdoor pool table, table tennis, table football, and giant games like Jenga and Connect 4. We know you’ll make the happiest of memories when you spend your large group holidays at The Grinding Barn because a whole lot of thought and love has gone onto creating this place.
